Ecoven Plus: windows with Veka profiles made in Spain
Ecoven Plus is a Spanish brand by Inrialsa (Industrias Riojanas del Aluminio), a company with over 50 years of experience headquartered in Lardero (La Rioja). What Ecoven does is manufacture finished windows using Veka profiles produced at the Veka plant in Burgos.
The key difference between buying an Ecoven window and a generic Veka window is the certification: Ecoven Plus is the only PVC window with AENOR Marca N certification on the finished product (not just the profile). It was also the first PVC window in Spain to obtain Passivhaus certification (S82, warm-temperate climate).
We have been installing Ecoven Plus in the Girona and Costa Brava area for years. This article is our honest assessment based on real experience: what we like, what we would improve, and who we recommend it for.
Ecoven Plus systems: three series for every need
Ecoven Plus organises its catalogue into three series based on Veka Softline profiles, plus sliding systems and entrance doors. The naming is straightforward: S70, S76 and S82 according to profile depth.
Ecoven Plus S70: the renovation series
The S70 is the entry-level Ecoven Plus product: 70 mm depth, 5 chambers and a Uf of 1.3 W/m²K. It is the right profile for renovations where old aluminium windows are being replaced and a quality upgrade is desired without an excessive budget.
- Profile depth: 70 mm
- Chambers: 5
- Profile Uf: 1.3 W/m²K
- Window Uw: up to 0.9 W/m²K
Ecoven Plus S76: the perfect balance
The S76 is Ecoven Plus's most-installed series and the one offering the best value for money. With 76 mm depth and triple sealing, it achieves a Uf of 1.1 W/m²K and accepts glazing of up to 48 mm.
- Profile depth: 76 mm
- Chambers: 5
- Profile Uf: 1.1 W/m²K
- Window Uw: up to 0.75 W/m²K
It is our reference profile for primary residences: sufficient insulation for the Mediterranean climate and the interior plateau, reasonable price and excellent manufacturing quality. The triple rubber seal guarantees superior air and water tightness.
Ecoven Plus S82: certified Passivhaus
The S82 is Ecoven Plus's top-of-the-range product: 82 mm depth, 7 chambers in the frame and 6 in the sash, with a Uf of 1.0 W/m²K. It was the first PVC window in Spain to obtain Passivhaus certification for a warm-temperate climate.
- Profile depth: 82 mm
- Chambers: 7 (frame) / 6 (sash)
- Profile Uf: 1.0 W/m²K
- Window Uw: 0.76 W/m²K

Real advantages of Ecoven Plus windows
- Only PVC window with AENOR Marca N — This is not a minor seal: AENOR certifies the finished product, not just the profile. It means manufacturing that is controlled and regularly verified.
- Veka profiles from Burgos — The profiles are Veka Softline made in Spain. You get German engineering with local production lead times.
- First Passivhaus PVC window in Spain — The S82 was a pioneer in Passivhaus certification for a warm-temperate climate. This is not a marketing claim; it is a certification from the PHI in Darmstadt.
- Tropical compound — Ecoven's PVC uses a formulation with a high titanium dioxide content, specifically designed to withstand UV radiation in the Spanish climate. This is a detail that few European brands consider.
- Spanish manufacturing = direct service — Inrialsa has over 50 years of history. It is not an intermediary: it designs, manufactures and provides support from Lardero (La Rioja).
Limitations and weak points
- It is not Veka — Although it uses Veka profiles, Ecoven Plus does not have the same international brand recognition. Some customers get confused and think it is a white-label product or an imitation.
- Range limited to 3 series — Compared to the 5–6 series from Rehau or Kömmerling, Ecoven offers S70, S76 and S82 and little else. If you are looking for something in between (for example, 80 mm) or a concealed sash system, they do not have it.
- Uneven distribution — Depending on the region of Spain, it can be difficult to find a fabricator that works with Ecoven. Coverage is good in the north and centre of the peninsula; less so in the south and east.
Real opinions: our experience installing Ecoven Plus
We install Ecoven Plus as one of our regular brands in the Girona area. These are our assessments based on daily experience:
- "The S76 is the profile that gives us the most satisfaction" — It has exactly the right balance: sufficient insulation for the Costa Brava climate, a reasonable price and consistent manufacturing quality. It is rare for us to have issues with this profile.
- "The AENOR certification shows in the fit and finish" — Ecoven windows arrive with very tight tolerances. The hardware fits without forcing, the seals close well from the factory and the corners are perfectly square. This makes installation much easier.
- "For holiday homes on the coast, it is our first choice" — The tropical PVC compound withstands the salinity and UV radiation of the Mediterranean very well. We have installed Ecoven in Begur, Calella de Palafrugell and Palamós and after 5 years they are still immaculate.
- "The S82 is serious but expensive for what it adds in this area" — The Passivhaus S82 makes sense in high-altitude areas or in certification projects. On the Costa Brava, the S76 already more than meets requirements, and the price difference does not justify the upgrade for most clients.
- "Colours and finishes are correct but do not stand out" — Ecoven offers a good range of laminated finishes, but it does not reach the level of customisation of Kömmerling's Full Cover or Deceuninck's Elegant with 50+ colours. For projects where aesthetics are a priority, there are better options.
Ecoven Plus vs other brands: direct comparison
The most natural comparison is with Veka (since it uses their profiles) and with Kömmerling (its direct competitor in the mid-to-high range):

Who do we recommend Ecoven Plus windows for?
- Primary residence in a Mediterranean climate — The S76 is perfect for the Costa Brava, Girona, Barcelona and the entire Catalan coastline. Sufficient insulation, fair price and proven durability against salinity.
- Holiday homes on the coast — Ideal combination of UV/salinity resistance (tropical compound), good performance and a more affordable price than premium brands.
- Projects requiring official certification — If the developer or local authority requires AENOR certification of the finished product, Ecoven Plus is the only option in PVC.
- Renovation with a controlled budget — The S70 offers a huge quality leap compared to old aluminium windows at an accessible price.
Conclusion: is Ecoven Plus worth it?
Ecoven Plus is the brand we recommend when a client wants Veka quality with the additional assurance of an AENOR certification on the finished product. It is not the best-known brand or the most innovative, but it is reliable, well-made and has a track record of over 50 years without any major issues.
The S76 is our workhorse: the profile we install most in the Girona and Costa Brava area because it offers exactly the right balance between performance, price and durability. For most homes in a Mediterranean climate, you do not need anything more.
Frequently asked questions about Ecoven Plus windows
Is Ecoven Plus the same as Veka?
Not exactly. Ecoven Plus manufactures finished windows using Veka Softline profiles produced in Burgos, but adds its own manufacturing process, AENOR Marca N certification and a PVC compound specifically formulated for the Spanish climate. It is a window manufacturer that uses Veka profiles, not a distributor.
What is AENOR Marca N certification?
It is a product certification that verifies that the finished window (profile + hardware + glazing assembled) meets the declared specifications. AENOR regularly audits the Ecoven factory. It is the only PVC window in Spain to hold this certification.
How much do Ecoven Plus windows cost?
The S70 with double glazing starts at around 420 € per installed window. The S76 with triple glazing (our usual recommendation) is around 650 €. The S82 Passivhaus with triple glazing starts at 780 €. Prices include installation in Girona and Costa Brava.
Ecoven Plus or Kömmerling?
It depends on the project. Ecoven S76 and Kömmerling 76 AD are very closely matched in performance. Ecoven has AENOR Marca N (certified finished product); Kömmerling has Full Cover (colour through the full profile mass) and a larger fabricator network. For most residential projects, both are excellent options. Detailed comparison.
Are Ecoven Plus windows Passivhaus?
The S82 system is certified as a Passivhaus component by the PHI in Darmstadt for a warm-temperate climate. It was the first PVC window in Spain to obtain this certification. The S70 and S76 series do not have Passivhaus certification but comfortably meet the requirements of the CTE.
Where are Ecoven Plus windows manufactured?
The windows are manufactured at the Inrialsa plant in Lardero (La Rioja). The PVC profiles come from the Veka plant in Burgos. The entire process is carried out in Spain.
